ਅਲ-ਹੁਮਾਜ਼ਾ
This surah relays the corrupt, breaking, and detrimental qualities of how wealth will do you damage, and restricts us from being arrogant, and guides us to improve manners.
Regarding the subtle* slanderer ∨ insulters ∨ faultfinder ∨ defamer ∨ backbiter who do the following:
who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. / who amasses wealth ˹greedily˺ (taking long time to do so) and counts it a safeguard
thinking that their wealth will make them immortal!¹
2 / Be humble with your money ∨ collections ∨ treasures and don't expect it to do wonders for you.
[Be careful of amassing more wealth than needed (if only for self), so not to take it to heart]
Gossip ∨ Insults ∨ Comparisons are very dangerous [could lead to getting cursed once done (specially in some cases where others are more talented)]
*As Abu Bakr Zoud (2017) in Tafseer Surat Al Humazah video illustrates subtly mocking/insulting/violating the people's reputation and their indigeneity via a stealth silent manner by the use of your senses:⁴
sticking tongue someone,
joust someone one by opening your mouth eg 'look at this guy what is he saying..'
using insulting eye gestures,
point your hands at someone raise middle finger,
laugh at someone, etc. all theses are considered Al Humaz
[This may be also including wearing jewellery and showing off expensive cars]
Regarding the fire stored for him will be in the following format:
with its pillars, ones that are outstretched.⁵
9 / [Each thing that he amassed ∨ collected will be a pillar of pain.]
Money and time needs to be channeled in things that would make Alha happy.
Don't be concerned or accounting about what valuable donation you lost / thing you gave out, want to get etc.
(rather be happy that the wealth ∨ art has moved, and will provide someone else happiness now and do greater good)
Mocking someone requires an immense amount of time which is of waste.
[Maybe use this energy to think of good deeds]
[Only those generously-donating people can show off and criticize?]
