Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji (SGGS ji) contains the writings of the 6 of Sikh Gurus and 15 Bhagats, as well as a few chronicles from the Bhatts (Bards).
It contains an assortment of Ragas. Each section in the Ragas are ordered chronologically by the Gurus writings, then the writings of the Bhagats follow if any Bhagat wrote in that raag notation lastly Ragas close by Vars which are lengthy compositions. There are considered to be 31 ragas in SGGS ji and 22 Varan.
