This surah is about the competition of various things you can desire.

Competition for more ˹gains˺ diverts you ˹from Allah˺, / Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you / The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied

until you end up in ˹your˺ graves.¹

1 [Beware of learning too much / Maybe have different aims or do it only outwardly with your mind satisfied with God's blessings in prayer/simran]

We are not focused on thinking of what is the right thing, what is importance.

Focus more on heavenly rather than worldly.

Don't want more and more.

Think rather of how to help others more - pray more, do more good deeds, give to the poor, or help the neighbour.

Nay, you will soon come to know;¹⁴

3 / [The consequences will be made obvious and you will eventually fail anyways.]

and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life / Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure²

8 / [You shouldn't have such pleasure in Worldly Gain, Competition, Rivalry in World Increase, Knowledge, etc

What did you do with your blessings, use your blessings as a motivation to do more good rather than an ends? The more things you get in this world the more you will be asked what you did with them?]

Really check where you are focusing your efforts (do for the good of all people)
